Hi Murray, if it wasn’t clear it is my understanding that NHK is making the
copyright claims, not JSA.  That is certainly their right.  It is their
program.  The YouTubers “rebroadcasting” the sumo coverage for fans outside
Japan have been doing it for a long time and only recently started getting
copyright strikes.

You’re on the inside.  Do the JSA and NHK know that there is a significant
sumo fan base outside of Japan and those fans have few means to watch the
basho in close to real time without these YouTube channels?
