Ozeki Kotozakura trained at home today against the likes of Kotoshouhou and
was 9-1. It’s going to be his first basho as an Ozeki in Kyushu. “All
bashos are equally important,” he said later. Last basho he finished with
an 8-7 record, ending his double digit wins streak at 5 bashos. “After
becoming Ozeki, I never intended to be satisfied with eight wins. 10 wins
are the bare minimum if I want to achieve anything,” he said. Tomorrow is
the Nishonoseki rengo keiko and the two other Ozeki are slated to
participate as well. “It doesn’t matter who will be there, all I can do is
give it my all..” he summed.
