Apple iMac Less Expensive than DIY PC

Apple has a reputation for selling "premium" priced computers. Though
the company abandoned this strategy several years ago, the reputation
still stands. The reason for this stems from the fact that Apple doesn't
allow you to build your own computer from comodity parts. But that
doesn't make PCs less expensive... though it does make the Mac less
configurable.

But if we're talking solely about price, how does a Mac stack up against
a DIY PC if the specs are matched up? Harry Rider submitted the
following editorial to osOpinion/osViews which makes the comparison
between a low-end iMac and a DIY PC.
