USIIA Bulletin 07:30 Study: Fears Over Kids' Safety Online Misplaced It's common wisdom that the Internet is a dangerous place for kids, filled with predators lurking to lure children and harm them. That wisdom has lead to everything from tightened access controls for social networking sites to calls for massive data retention by ISPs. But a new study from the National School Boards Association suggests strongly that many of those fears are misplaced and that the overwhelming majority of kids have never had an unknown adult ask them for personal information. http://www.usiia.org
